Old news for some, but realized I haven’t put any pictures on here about it. Before Gears 5 officially ended, we managed to put up an amazing-looking wallpaper on our “setup” wall, i.e. in front of our gaming PCs.
I chose the same website as always. You send them a photo, give them the measurements of your wall you want to put it on, and they send you a wallpaper to put up, with glue and tools and everything! I’ve literally done it six times now, in four different places I’ve lived. Most of them, I’ve put up entirely by myself. I looove these wallpapers, look at my previous ones:
We had to move all the furniture out of the way, but the wallpaper mounting itself went well and smooth, I would say. We’re really getting the hang of it (ba dum diss 🤣).
The wall is essentially black brick wall (which we always wanted), and then a slogan from Gears of War, used often talking about mental health, loneliness and suicide. Just before I ordered it, I thought, “what if we just “carve” all the gamertags of everyone we love to play games with, including the ones that have left us?”. So that’s what I sat endless hours on my PC and did, put everyone’s tags in.
At the top, with hearts, we have put the people who are no longer with us. And in that way, they are always with us. 💖 I LOVE the wallpaper so much. After we put the LED light strip in, it looks even better, in my opinion.
And with our setups, it looks amazing, if I may say so myself (just missing my second monitor and our gaming chairs there, but imagine them).
