Beautiful All Saint’s Eve

In Sweden, we don’t typically celebrate Halloween like, for example, the US does. There are some that decorates with some pumpkins in the windows, and I did have three dressed-up girls knock on our door and say trick or treat (“Bus eller godis”, in Swedish). We do, however, celebrate All Saint’s Eve, which means that we go to our graves and put down candles on our loved, departed friends and relatives, and think of them. And this is how beautiful the graveyard looked the next day by the little church right next to our house in Baldur’s Den:

New shoe rack/bench

It was time to assemble the bench/shoe rack we bought at Jysk a while ago. Aaron and my dad (and lots of other people, for that matter) need to sit down to put on their shoes, and we didn’t really had anything to sit on by the hall.

It wasn’t too difficult to assemble. Every Swede is an expert on putting IKEA furniture together, so xD

This is what it looked like before:

And this is after, we are very pleased (and so are the CATS):

Plus, we can fit more shoes now, so win-win. ^^

Brunch with bubbly

Even though I still feel a littly iffy, and Aaron has now caught my cold, we did travel into Stockholm to attend our fancy brunch with bubbly, a Christmas presents from my folks. It was at Hotel Carl, a beautiful place. And the food was soooo good.

It was wonderful, thanks again for the gift, guys! ❤ After brunch, I met up with Tamara and Georgos, and Aaron hung out with Foraz. Hope none of them get sick, we’ve been in bed all day and lazing around, I have to go to work tomorrow no matter how I feel, I can’t be gone more than a week, and my students have exams on Wednesday…

Sick :(

It’s boring to be ill. I’ve been in bed going on five days now, and can’t get anything done. Luckily, Aaron is keeping me company. We have watched about a whole season of X-files (we are on season 6 now), and a lot of good movies (he hadn’t seen any of them before, but he liked them):

If you need a good movie to watch, here you go. You’re welcome. Hope I will feel better for Saturday, when we are going on a fancy brunch 😦

Our Summer

Even though we’ve had some absolutely lovely, warm Summer days in September, it feels like the Autumn has officially begun, and I’ve been back at work for three weeks already. We’ve had a great Summer, the first one in our new house. We’ve taken three trips (one being a cruise), gone on lots and fun adventures, eaten lots of nice food, bathed (both in the Gise lake, and it our two paddling pools we put up on the back porch, GENIUS), watched tons of good movies and tv-series, and streamed/gamed a lot. It’s been great! Here are some highlights:

In the beginning of Summer, I and Aaron went to my sister’s Burlesque Club with my two best friends, Tamara and Georgos. So strange that I’ve known the latter for over 10 years, and he’s NEVER been to one before.

The theme was “Under the Sea”, so we dressed up as a Mermaid and a Merman. The body paint took aaaages to apply, and it didn’t really cover us well either. But fuck it, we had a great time! 🙂

My dad at the piano ❤
Some of the costumes were amazing!
The performers were amazing!
The producers being cute.

Last of June was the last day we had access to the flat, so we had to rent a huge van and move the last of the stuff. I moved in there in the Autumn of 2015, so it’s a long time. And Aaron and I have lived there for two years, on and off. It was definitely a bit sad to leave, and see the place for the last time.

Aaron had never driven a van before, but he did GREAT ❤

It was a good neighbourhood, I’m gonna miss it ❤

It was intense, only having the van for 3 hours. We unloaded in the garage to make it back in time, and we had to drive for 140 km, but we made it there with 5 minutes to spare. That night, we were TI. RED.

Midsummer was nice, celebrating out in the country house with good food, like usual.

Midsummer BINGO!

I go with mum and dad every year, and this Summer, Aaron finally came, too, to the Ice Cream Buffet at Skansholmen. I love it there, it’s beautiful (and TASTY).

We like to go on a cruise once in a while, to get some cheap Taxfree booze and cigarettes, and of course to have great food (best buffet in the world, with unlimited beer/wine/cider for two hours) and an awesome time!

We got a great table at the buffet!
I got a bit cold out of the deck after a few hours xD

Mum and dad showed us an epic little café (that you have to go to by BOAT, making it even epicar! (yes, I turned that into a comparative adjective, deal with it)), Eldtomta Café and Shop.

So incredibly snug and homie! Just someone’s house, turned into an epic restaurant, with a stage in the back garden, for concerts during the Summer!

The place is decorated so wonderfully, with lots of old pictures and furniture.

The food (jacket potatoes with the Swedish “skagenröra”) was amazing.

When Aaron and I have the car next, we will definitely go there!

Every Thursday all Summer, there are Veteran Car meetups in Trosa (10 minutes from us). We went to one of them this year, and it did not disappoint.

It’s been a great Summer.

Our plans for the Autumn is to watch “Homeland” and “Game of Thrones” (again), play “A Plague’s Tale”, unpack all our boxes and get the house in order, put up some nice wallpapers in the front room, and (hopefully) start swimming.

Re-branding

Some may have noticed that I’ve been messing around with the design of the blog, and also that there’s been a name change! Instead of calling it “fannysjoblom”, I am now calling it “Baldur’s Den”, a reference to our address (Baldur’s Paddock 4) and beloved house. Unfortunately, I could not for the life of me figure out how to get this header on here, but at least I have it on our newly-created Baldur’s Den-Youtube!

Why this re-brand? Well, I decided that I want to be able to post things that involves both of us. This is, for example, the new about page:

What else is changing?, you ask. Well, not much, I promise:
¤ The site will now be called a “website”, or a “webpage”, not a blog.
¤ I will write in English instead of Swedish (right-click and choose “Translate to Swedish” if you need, mum).
¤ There will be a lot more about our Twitch, Youtube, our gaming, tournaments etc.
¤ I will update here a lot more often (hopefully, it is the plan anyway).

Basically, we are going to treat this thing like our combined blog, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Enjoy.
